Pink has opened up about her terrifying battle with coronavirus.
The Family Portrait hitmaker, 40, contracted the killer bug at the beginning of April, alongside her youngest child, Jameson, three.
Admitting that she and her son are now finally fully recovered from their sickness, Pink – whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore – described it as the most challenging period of her life.
The singer opened up about her and Jameson’s ‘physically and emotionally challenging’ battle with the deadly disease in a thought-provoking and eye-opening essay published by NBC News.
Opening up the discussion, the singer revealed that her and her son’s battle with coronavirus was one of the most difficult times in her life.
“Battling COVID-19 along with my three-year-old son was the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother,” she said.
The singer continued by revealing that even after weeks of rest and recuperation, her little boy was still suffering with some of the worst symptoms including a dangerously high fever and constant weakness.
She explained: “Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish.
“It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next”.
In the Mother’s Day themed essay, Pink reiterated the fact that it wasn’t just her and her son who suffered sickness after contracting the virus – thousands upon thousands of people all over the world are still not over the worst of it.
“But our story is not unique; there are mothers all over America, and the world, that are facing this same uncertainty every single day.”
The three-time Grammy winning star finished off the poignant and honest piece by encouraging fans to donate whatever they could afford to vulnerable members of the community in order to do their part to fight the killer bug.
The Just Like A Pill hitmaker shocked fans when she revealed that she and her son tested positive for the coronavirus after showing symptoms.
Pink waited until both herself and Jameson were recovered and back to full health before she announced the battle that they had been through together.
Not long after sharing the terrifying news, the singer – who is also mother to daughter Willow, eight – took to Instagram to pledge one million dollars to coronavirus relief charities.
Earlier this week, the singer took to Instagram to share an update with fans regarding her son’s health.
The mum-of-two then went on to describe the problems Jameson had while battling the potentially fatal virus.
She said: “There were many nights when I’ve cried and I’ve never prayed more in my life.
“It’s funny, but at one point, I thought they promised us our kids would be okay. It’s not guaranteed. There is no one that is safe from this”.
“Jameson has been really, really sick. I’ve kept a journal of his symptoms for the past three weeks and mine as well”.
“He still, three weeks later, has a 100 temperature. It’s been a rollercoaster for both of us, but Carey and Willow have been perfectly fine.”
Thankfully, both Pink and Jameson are out of the woods now.
